Meet the Team
When you come into The Centre these are the people you may meet, while everyone has their own job roles we are a small charity with staff who genuinely care about The Centre and it’s users so it may be anyone from the staff team that completes your referral or shows you around The Centre.
Nicola is The Centre’s Operations Manager so is responsible for making sure that The Centre continues to provide the services that the local community need. Dealing with funding, service development and maintaining quality standards are all part of her role and much of her work is done behind the scenes keeping The Centre running.
Janet is The Centre’s longest serving member of staff and job shares the role of Centre Co-ordinator. Janet makes sure The Centre runs smoothly from day to day, she is also responsible for facilitating ‘Hugs’ peer support group, taking new referrals, organising the day trips for centre users, monitoring and recording centre usage and our beauty therapy service.
Corrinne job shares the role of Centre Co-ordinator with Janet so is responsible for making sure everything runs as it should each day. She also facilitates our Runcorn Open Arms peer support group and Bosom Buddies, our breast cancer group. It will usually be Corrine or Janet that completes your referral when you first come to The Centre.
Nykie is The Centre’s administrator, taking the lead on communications which includes producing The Centre’s regular email newsletters. You can sign up to receive your copy here (Insert Mailchimp button) Nykie also maintains The Centre’s social media accounts and website news section. Nykie also facilitates our Make-it-Monday craft group.
Val is The Centre’s financial administrator so she takes responsibility for counting recording and banking any money that comes into The Centre. Val also ensures that the Centre’s accounts are all up to date and accurate and ready for auditing. Val also ensures that anything needed by The Centre is ordered to keep The Centre running effectively.
Sam co-ordinates and oversees our team of counsellors at The Centre, matching counsellors to those requesting the service and arranging appointments. Sam also runs our children and young people’s service. She works closely with local schools, going in to work with children whose lives have been touched by cancer giving them a safe space to talk and the tools to cope better with their experiences.
